Thinking Out Loud!

Doors

Today, I cheated a little on my photo of the day.  I actually took two pictures and combined them into one using the screen shot feature on my computer.  The picture shows both the outside and the inside view of my classroom door.  Every morning the drab gray door greets me.  You’re probably thinking, well why not just decorate it?  In our school decorations on the outside of the door just don’t work.  It’s no big deal really. It’s what happens on the other side of the door that matters. It is the relationships that are built, the risk-taking that occurs, and the learning experiences we engage in together.  Are things always perfect? No.  Are there days when the drab gray seeps into the classroom? Yes.  But most days, we work together, laugh together, and build dreams together. Hence the inside view of the door……

  1. I love your door. I love the element of surprise on the other side. And the big surprise has a perfect message (where did you get that poster, by the way?). Here’s to messy learning, taking risks, and building relationships!
